U.S.: Todd Palin may as well have been the governor of Alaska

  • I’m getting calls from Soldotna about the next judge appointment. Is (redacted) on the list, I’m getting calls from folks hoping he’s not selected. Let me know what’s happening so I can put to rest some of the rumors.
  • Todd Palin • In an e-mail he exchanged with Alaskan government officials. He sent a lot of these kinds of e-mails – over 1,400, around 1,200 of which were released to MSNBC under a Freedom of Information Act request. Apparently, Todd had a ton of power when Sarah was governor – more than most first ladies or first dudes have. That should look pretty good for Sarah’s career, eh? source

Politics: Why are we holding back Rahm Emanuel’s hilarious profanity?

  • Issues of derogatory comments that make fun of one group or pit one against the other don’t do anything to further our political discourse, And for that Rahm apologized and we’re looking to move forward.
  • White House spokesman Bill Burton • Regarding the fact that Obama adviser Rahm Emanuel called some liberal activists “#(&(@&# retarded” in a closed-door meeting. Sarah Palin jumped on it for some reason, and now Emanuel is being forced to apologize. Can we just say that it’s retarded that Emanuel is getting trashed on for using the word “retarded”? Sure, there are stereotypes at play here, but come on. Rahm walks into a meeting room in the White House and says something worse than “retarded” without even trying. This man should be praised for his uncompromising, innovative use of profanity, not chided for it. source

Politics: Self-centered: Sarah Palin’s debut on Fox News tonight

  • This is analysis? Of who? Tonight’s debut of Sarah Palin as a Fox News commentator was a fail as a piece of commentary because the focus never really left the topic of Sarah Palin. We understand why Palin might want to use this opportunity to clear her throat, but if she really wants to be worthy of our time, she can’t spend fifteen minutes talking about herself. Who cares?

Politics: Sarah Palin called an idiot yet again – this time on “60 Minutes”

  • She still didn’t really understand why there was a North Korea and a South Korea. She was still regularly saying that Saddam Hussein had been behind 9/11.
  • John McCain’s 2008 campaign strategist, Steve Schmidt • Regarding Sarah “Going Rogue” Palin’s faults as a vice presidential candidate – and as a human being, really. Schmidt went further, saying she was woefully misinformed about policy issues and overly concerned about her political standing in Alaska on the day she had a key interview with Katie Couric. Despite this, Schmidt admits that if she wasn’t on the ticket, the campaign would’ve faltered even worse than it did. source

Politics: Sarah Palin’s yammering on about some silly hat incident

  • I am so sorry if people took this silly incident the wrong way. I adore John McCain, support him 100 percent and will do everything I can to support his reelection. As everyone knows, I was honored and proud to run with him. And Todd and I were with him in D.C. just a week ago. So much for trying to be incognito.
  • Sarah Palin • Yammering about how her decision to wear a hat with a covered-up McCain ’08 logo wasn’t a slight on her former running mate. That’s the great thing about Sarah – her life turns into a vapid media slideshow when she isn’t even trying. source

  • This may be the funniest that Sarah Palin has ever been. You know, besides the political speeches that weren’t meant to be.

Politics: Max Headroom: John McCain lets Sarah Palin know where she stands

  • Is this a compliment?
On “Meet The Press” this week, John McCain said that he was proud of his former Veep candidate, Sarah Palin, and said that even though she’s “irrelevant,” people continue to attack her. Sounds backhanded.

  • Mitt Romney’s stance
You know this guy’s gonna make another run for office. The GOP’s best resource on government health care leans largely on fiscal concerns in this clip with our boy John King. Whether or not you agree, he sounds on the ball.

  • I don’t vote
Gen. David Petraeus has a pretty interesting wrinkle to carry around: He doesn’t vote, and hasn’t since he was promoted to Maj. General in 2002. Fox News’ Chris Wallace, amusingly, seems taken aback by this fact.
