The man was apparently despondent after losing his job a few days ago after a dispute with an administrator.   • One of his players died after collapsing. High school football coach David Jason Stinson of Louisville, Ky. will be arraigned in the heat-related death of 15-year-old Max Gilpin. Gilpin, an offensive lineman, died three days after collapsing during a late-summer practice. Stinson, who’s been re-assigned to non-coaching and non-teaching duties in the wake of the incident, has many supporters among the student body, and proclaims his innocence. source

World: Brazillian model Mariana Bridi da Costa loses her battle to live

  • An unspeakable murder A Chinese graduate student was decapitated by a fellow classmate in a cafe on campus. Yesterday, 22-year-old female student Xin Yang was killed with a butcher knife by 25-year-old male student Haiyang Zhu. Yang had only recently started at the Blacksburg, Va. school a few weeks ago. Haiyang knew the student, but no motive has yet been determined for his actions. source

U.S.: Peanut butter, one of our staple foods, is off-limits

  • It’s nuts, but the FDA says no. The Food and Drug Administration has told people, in the wake of a salmonella scare that’s hit 474 people in 43 states (and possibly killed six), not to eat peanut butter for the time being. They want to be sure it didn’t come from the source of the outbreak, Peanut Corp. of America. Sigh. But it’s so good! :( source
