Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said in a televised address: “The conditions have been created that our aims, as declared, were attained fully, and beyond.”
  • Hamas not done yet A cease-fire may have been called on Israel’s end, but Hamas is standing strong. “A unilateral ceasefire does not mean ending the aggression and ending the siege,” said Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhoum. “These constitute acts of war and so this will not mean an end to resistance.”
  • The end tollIsrael begins their cease-fire at 2 a.m. Sunday, believing that they’ve removed Hamas’ ability to attack the southern part of Israel with rockets. (Their cause wasn’t helped when – lo and behold – Hamas launched a rocket attack on Saturday.) In the end, the assault on Gaza led to more than 1,200 Palestinian deaths. source
