Culture: Pac-Man creator has bizarre ideas of what women want

  • When you think about things women like, you think about fashion, or fortune-telling, or food or dating boyfriends. So I decided to theme the game around ‘eating’ — after eating dinner, women like to have dessert.
  • Pac-Man creator Toru Iwatani • Regarding how he came about creating what some call the first casual game. Other notes: Yeah, he came up with Pac Man’s design based on a pizza that was missing a slice. And it’s weird to consider, but it was the first character-driven video game. The game celebrates its 30th anniversary today. (Google simply got a head start.) source

Culture: William Shatner born for “#(@& My Dad Says” sitcom

  • We say spit; why can’t we say *#@(? #*&* is a very natural function of the body. We shouldn’t discard it.
  • “(#(& My Dad Says” star William Shatner • Regarding what the very middle-American CBS should call the show (it’s still under debate). So yeah, this quote kinda ranks up there with the tweets. It’d be fair to say that this could be pretty freaking awesome when it finally hits the air. source

Culture: An open letter to Bret Michaels’ body on recent events

  • Dear immune system and major organs, please don’t kill Bret Michaels. He’s a perfectly good example of what a hair-rocker should be at his age – well-loved (especially on VH1 reality shows) and respected more now than he was during the height of his success. First it was his appendix. Then it was a brain hemorrhage. Now it’s a hole in his heart and a “warning” stroke. Can’t you just let this guy grow old without hitting him with three major health scares in a month? Seriously. Back off for 30 years or so. source

Culture: Charlie Sheen decides not to cut down “Two and a Half Men”

  • Dude was talking about leaving the series. Look, Charlie Sheen‘s had a weird year. He’s been the subject of domestic violence calls (and hilarious mug shots). Some guy ganked his SUV and drove it down a cliff. And he’s constantly in the tabloids. It’s hard to forget sometimes that he still has time for a hit series. But the “Two and a Half Men” star will stay with the show for at least two more seasons, building it’ll likely be on for nine total. Well, as long as that domestic violence trial in Aspen goes his way. source

Both Iron Man and Whiplash are wearing armor suits created using top-of-the-line 3D printing technology. It’s not CGI, but it’s damn awesome. source

Culture: Dear Justin Bieber fans: You’re pawns in a viral marketing campaign

  • Justin Bieber should buy @twitter make it #BieberTwitter and then say “Who owns now bitch?” ;D
  • A Tweeter who goes by the name @BiebsOrDie • Regarding her mission, and the mission of teenage girls everywhere: Get Justin Bieber in the Twitter trending topics somehow. They’ve been doing everything in their power to make it happen, much to the frustration of people who simply want the trending topics to provide relevant information (a fact we noted on Twitter earlier today). The thing is, these teenage girls are really just vectors for the music industry. Twitter has to figure out a way to filter its results better. source
