Music: We don’t think Lady Gaga said this, but we’re quoting it anyway

  • It’s not something that I’m ashamed of, just isn’t something that I go around telling everyone. Yes. I have both male and female genitalia, but I consider myself a female.
  • Lady Gaga • As she was supposedly quoted about her gender identity, which apparently gives credence to the claim she’s a hermaphrodite. The claims were given legs after a recent wardrobe malfunction made it look like the “Poker Face” singer was packing more than the usual. Regarding the claims, Gaga’s manager said: “This is completely ridiculous.” We’re inclined to agree. • source

Biz: AT&T doesn’t understand the idea of a discount very well

  • Go in and the man at the desk goes about setting me up. Then he says this ‘There is an activation fee of $36 to add this discount to your account.’
  • Consumerist reader “ValentineHumphrey” • Describing the process during which she found out her company was getting charged a $36 fee for getting a 25% discount from AT&T. Man, and we thought our logic didn’t make much sense. They got the fee reversed but that’s just cruddy service in the first place. • source

Offbeat: People say the dumbest things at job interviews

  • When you do background checks on candidates, do things like public drunkenness arrests come up?
  • A job interviewee, when asked if they had any questions • That big idiot, along with 42 other idiots (who said such wonderful things as “What do you want me to do if I cannot walk to work if it’s raining? Can you pick me up?” and “I saw the job posted on Twitter and thought, why not?”) are a big part of the reason why the unemployment level is so high in this country. Right?
