Politics: The White House refutes Glenn Beck on its website. Why?

  • In the past, hosting the Olympics has been a source of pride and unity for the country, but once again Fox News’ Glenn Beck program has shown that nothing is worthy of respect if it can be used as part of a partisan attack to boost ratings.
  • White House blogger Jesse Le • Refuting a point that Glenn Beck made saying that Vancouver lost a lot of money on the Olympics. (Protip: Vancouver is hosting the Olympics in 2010, which means that Glenn Beck is an idiot.) But we’re sorry, this is not the White House’s place to refute. The reason why Obama was voted in is because he’s above this garbage. Refuting it puts him at the same level, even if the points are sound. We got this one, Jesse. • source

  • And this, my friends, is why Glenn Beck should not be taken seriously as a political pundit. He kills Kermit! And he does it to prove a stupid point!source

Politics: Glenn Beck: I love Hillary Clinton, hate John McCain. WTF?

  • Do we live in Bizarro World or something? We have to admit that when we watched this, our brains exploded just a little bit. Well, good for you or something, Glenn.source

Politics: Oh great. Glenn Beck is on the cover of Time.

  • We’ve got to pull together, because we are facing dark, dark times. I don’t trust a single weasel in Washington. I don’t care what party they’re from. But unless we trust each other, we’re not going to make it.
  • Glenn Beck • As quoted in a Time cover story called “Mad Man: Is Glenn Beck Bad for America?” (We lean yes, based on our discourse over the last few weeks.) The article discusses Beck’s nature, history in radio, and how, over a single summer, he became this … phenomenon. And if you disagree with him, it comes to bite you in the rear-end: “The more the host is criticized, the more committed the original audience becomes,” the Time article argues. Why can’t our pudgy middle-aged guys be like Kevin James? • source

U.S.: ACORN and the Census: No longer working together

  • Glenn Beck strikes again. Thanks to this video and a bunch of other reasons, the U.S. Census has severed its relationship with community organizers ACORN. It was a number of things, but this video above, which shows the organization’s D.C. and Baltimore offices helping a woman pretending to be a prostitute, was the tipping point. “Their affiliation caused sufficient concern with the general public,” said Census Bureau spokesperson Stephen Buckner.source

U.S.: Are you a big fan of scandals? If so, here’s a bipartisan post!

  • California assemblyman Mike Duvall learned never to speak on an open microphone about having sex with lobbyists. He resigned, and now he’s under investigation. Idiot.

Politics: Remember that Glenn Beck attack site? The lawyers got it

  • “Glenn Beck Raped And Murdered A Young Girl In 1990 (dot com)” was nailed. Hard. Last week’s hilariously blatant slander golden boy, GlennBeckRapedAndMurderedAYoungGirlIn1990.com, was taken down in an attack by lawyers on both its host, data center and registar. However, the site bounced back in alternate form: GB1990.com. In other news, Fark’s Drew Curtis took Keith Olbermann to task for his criticism of the attacks, which are a parody of Glenn Beck’s own tactics. source

Politics: Glenn Beck’s clone: Oh God, now there’s two of them.

  • Man, we need to work on our Glenn Beck impression. Maybe if there’s three Glenn Beck clones, we can gang up on the actual Glenn Beck and beat him up.source

Politics: Glenn Beck can soon unlock any door in Mount Vernon, Washington

Bro’s being given a key to the city … for some unexplained reason. It was probably because he got better ratings than “Mad Men” last week. source
