This is a drum machine emulator. As many budding musicians will tell you, learning recording techniques on a PC isn’t exactly much fun due to the learning curve involved. You can already see how much less of one a device like the iPad creates. Korg’s iElectribe app suggests just how much possibility is out there. Hopefully, Apple fixes their App Store situation to encourage creativity like this. source
We’re not sure what offends us more about this video – the obvious advertising (we counted Diet Coke, Virgin Mobile, PlentyOfFish.com, Little Debbie, Wonder Bread and Miracle Whip), the use of trash as clothing accessory, the use of Quentin Tarantino’s famous “#*#*@ Wagon,” the awful dialogue between Gaga and Beyonce halfway through the video, the bizarre shot of Gaga making a sandwich, Beyonce’s dreadful “I knew you’d take all my honey, you selfish mother(#(&@#” line, the fact that Lady Gaga poisoned a room full of people, or the fact that the title font is the same font as our logo font. Actually, that last part offends us most.
Man, Obama said this as if he had been waiting since the end of the presidential election to get this specific rip in on John McCain. Overall, we feel like Obama held his own in a tough crowd. Besides this, the best moment of the entire day was Obama telling Eric Cantor where to stick that huge pile of paper – a moment we can’t seem to find on YouTube, sadly. Was this mess productive? Of course not. But now Obama has his free pass to ignore them and pass the bill anyway using reconciliation. Thanks for being not helpful, right.
(* note: graphic video *) It’s perhaps a great commentary on our society that a video of an old dude beating up another dude can become a phenomenon of the first order. But this clip isn’t even the first for Thomas Brusso, who was also involved in a tasering incident at an Oakland A’s game last Summer. Spike TV also has an interview with the dude. If nothing else, the beard lives up to the legend. source
The opposition in Iran collectively has brass cajones. In this clip, protesters pull down a pro-government sign. In case you want to see more clips like this, this Facebook page has many.
This video is like a 30-second explanation of our lives. First, when the teddy bear was a little covered, it was fun. Then the snow kept coming. Now we’re just annoyed.
The background In 2006, a video of a child with Down’s syndrome getting attacked showed up on YouTube. Italy has gone after Google for the video big time, suing major executives and arguing that they should screen their content. Google argues this is a bad idea because it’s impossible.
The changes Now, Italy is considering taking the policy a step further. They want to force user-generated content sites like YouTube to be liable for what it posts by screening all the content that goes through and getting licenses to distribute the content online. Gah. What a bad idea.
The motives? Who’s the Prime Minister? Oh yeah, Silvio Berlusconi. Anyway, some suggest the government’s putting the hammer down due to Berlusconi trying to protect the content of his total-conflict-of-interest media and entertainment companies. Tinfoil hat time. source
