He claims that Robert Mugabe’s party hasn’t budged. Morgan Tsvangirai has been through the wringer trying to improve Zimbabwe and its laughable economy. He’s been beaten before. His wife died in a car crash. But after the arrest of Tsvangirai’s nominated government appointee Roy Bennett on terrorism charges, he’s had enough for now. Tsvangirai and his MDC party have “disengaged” from the unity government with Robert Mugabe. This comes at a bad time for Zimbabwe, which is trying to raise aid money to improve the country’s fragile economic state. source
I’d like to stop this rush to judgment because what I’ve seen so far does not amount to a conspiracy charge.
Defense Attorney J. Michael Dowling • On his client, Najibullah Zazi, who has been charged with plotting a terrorist attack in New York City. He’s being held without bail. Although it’s obvious that Dowling would say this about his client, he argues that there’s not a lot meat to the bones of the charges. “I don’t know the names of anybody else that allegedly conspired with Mr. Zazi,” Dowling said. “Those names have not been produced.” • source
Attorney General Eric Holder says the threat is likely “disrupted.” Terror suspect Najibullah Zazi reportedly planned to use the 9/11 holiday to plot another attack in New York, the U.S. attorney’s office says. Zazi, who was recently nailed buying large amounts of beauty store supplies on camera, likely faces life in prison for the planned attack. source
