World: Russia’s high-speed Nevsky Express hit by a terrorist blast before

  • A similar blast in 2007 injured 60. As Russian authorities center in on the probable cause of the train derailment that’s killed at least 26, it’s worth noting that there has been a history of this on the Nevsky Express. In the latest incident, survivors claim they heard a blast before the train derailed. This line is an important one for Russia – 27,000 people are facing delays aboard 60 trains as a result of the crash. source

  • It would have been cool to record a joint track with Vladimir Putin because he is a legendary man and our idol. Let’s make so much noise in his honour that the whole world can hear.

The Russian president presented awards to Zhigan and other rappers on MuzTV’s “Battle for Respect,” a rap-battle show. And you know M.C. Poot just brought it HARD. “I do not think that ‘top-rock’ or ‘down-rock’ breakdance technique is compatible with alcohol or drugs,” he said, to cheers, despite the fact that what he said was incredibly square in any language. • source

Boroujerdi is the leader of parliament’s foreign policy and national security committee. Regarding the missiles, which can shoot down cruise missiles and aircraft, Iran wants them mostly to take on Israel if there’s ever an attack. World: Russian lawmaker: These time zones annoy me. Let’s get rid of them!

  • Your country’s huge. What do you expect? Gennady Lazarev, a lawmaker in the country’s Primorye region, says that limiting the number of time zones in Russia – eleven from the country’s most eastern point to its most western – could help make trade and traffic just a little easier to deal with. “Our working day ends when it starts in Moscow. It’s both inconvenient for us and Moscow,” he says. Man, if we become politicians, we want the power to change time. That’d be AWESOME! source

World: For shame, murderous Russian bear on ice skates. For shame.

  • Maybe “Bears on Ice” wasn’t such a great idea. A Russian circus troupe is in mourning today after a bear who was supposed to be on ice skates killed circus administrator Dmitry Potapov and mauled an animal trainer. OK, we know. Russia has a long history of putting bears in the circus, but we think even we’d draw the line at ice skates. Screw the Ice Capades. source
