Politics: Ron Paul finally getting some respect in Congress, guys

And the best part for the libertarians out there? He didn’t come to the majority; the majority slowly came to him. He has a subcommittee chair to show for it. source

Politics: Max Headroom: Michael Steele gets support from (only) Ron Paul

  • Ron Paul: You’re lying! In this clip with Don Lemon earlier today, Paul, who’s speaking from Skype, claims that Lemon is misconstruing Steele’s comments. Prior to that is a pretty good catch-up on the whole situation, including John McCain and Jim DeMint ripping Steele’s leadership.

  • Erick Erickson rips SteeleThe RedState.com blogger, known for his controversial comments, already said that Steele should resign, but doesn’t think he will, because he’s not concerned for the health of the party, but the success of Michael Steele. We shockingly agree with him 100 percent.

  • Is this about race?Cynthia Tucker of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution speaks so negatively of both Steele and the process that led to his RNC leadership position that she suggests Steele got in through a bizarre form of affirmative action, and he doesn’t deserve the job.

Politics: Max Headroom: Meet the kind of guy who posts news videos all day

  • This bearded dude may not look like much, but he’s kind of a big deal. This guy runs a YouTube channel called MoxNews.com, which has posted hundreds of political videos like the kind we post here every week. He’s a bit of an obsessive about it (and argues the world might end after 2012), but he finds some really great news content. (And he needs money. You should donate.) The guy who ran the similar NewsPolitics YouTube channel got a job as a video editor for the excellent Mediaite and has turned that site into a huge hit. Why shouldn’t this guy get hooked up by Dan Abrams too? Just sayin’. Here are some recent clips from Mr. MoxNews’ YouTube channel.

  • Can Jesus be funnY? This priest on “Fox and Friends” seems offended by the idea that one can make fun of Jesus Christ, as Comedy Central is currently planning. He hurts his cause by suggesting a funny comedy couldn’t be made about presidential infidelity. Did this dude forget the Clinton years?
  • Oops, wrong guy! This MoxNews clip of a Seattle beating drew nearly 50,000 views in just two days. In the clip, police officers hold a man who was possibly a suspect in an armed robbery. Before they even know if he’s their guy, officers kick and stomp on him, injuring him. By the way, he wasn’t their guy.
  • Ron paul: I called it! The congressman and 2008 presidential candidate has been going on and on for years about overspending and too much debt causing the downfall of the world, so guess who Fox News called when they needed to talk to somebody about the Greece debt crisis? That’s right, Ron Paul.

Politics: Ron Paul isn’t afraid of standing up to Dick Cheney’s crazy

  • I think he had his eight years, and he’s caused a lot of trouble for our country and perpetuated a war in Iraq unnecessary and wrong-headed. I would say it would be best he not be so critical right now.
  • Rep. Ron Paul • Suggesting that Dick Cheney is out of his element in criticizing the Obama administration’s security policies. Granted, Paul isn’t exactly GOP leadership, but he is also somebody people know and also in Cheney’s party. So it’s interesting that he’s saying this about the guy. source

Politics: Max Headroom: We think Rush Limbaugh has a crush on Sarah Palin

  • Really, Rush? This week on “Fox News Sunday,” the network gave Rush Limbaugh a chat similar in style to Obama’s sitdown chat a month or two ago on other networks. The best nugget is where he says that Sarah Palin’s ready to be, uh, president.

  • Wild thingGen. Stanley McChrystal’s darkest mark on his record is his link to the hiding of Pat Tillman’s friendly fire death. Here, “Into the Wild” author Jon Krakauer calls McChrystal’s denial of a Tillman cover-up “preposterous” and “unbelievable.”

  • Swine foolIn an interview with Russia Today, everyone’s favorite crazy old guy, Ron Paul, goes on and on about how the U.S.-funded swine flu vaccine was a bad idea and a huge waste of money. We don’t say this very often, but: Shut up, Ron Paul.

Politics: Ron Paul talks more of his crazy mumbo-jumbo

  • While I would like nothing more than to see the Federal Reserve abolished, it is not absolutely necessary to do so with direct legislation.
  • Ron Paul • In a column on CNN where he argues that more transparency – and less spending – is needed at the Federal Reserve. But it’s all veiled – he would rather the Fed go away entirely. The uber-libertarian 2008 presidential candidate, last seen in Sacha Baron Cohen’s “Bruno” trying to fend off a gay guy, recently released a book, “Going Rogue”End the Fed,” arguing just that. We tried to continue reading what Paul was saying, but it made our brains hurt. • source

Culture: Paula Abdul: She got fooled by Bruno, didn’t even realize it

  • Sacha Baron Cohen is working hard. Between Ron Paul and this amazingly funny trailer, dude has been trying his best to make his newest movie just as funny as “Borat.” Now comes word that “Bruno” has successfully clawed in “American Idol” judge Paula Abdul, who apparently has no idea she was fooled by the over-the-top gay Austrian journalist. Sweet! source

Culture: Sacha Baron Cohen’s Bruno wanted a “Re’love’ution” with Ron Paul

Cohen’s “Bruno” wanted some man-on-man lovin’ with the Libertarian icon for his new movie. LOL. source
