Culture: Octet mom Nadya Suleman: My angels-in-waiting? Not really angels.

  • They were apparently spying on her. Suleman, who has 14 kids, in case you haven’t heard, claims the nonprofit Angels in Waiting has not exactly been very cool to her throughout their agreement. The group was providing training services to nannies paid on Suleman’s dime. (They initially offered around-the-clock service, but scaled back.) The group apparently was making complaints to child services. “It started out adversarial and never really resolved itself,” said Suleman attorney Jeff Czech. source

Offbeat: NYC’s finest didn’t stop terrorism, but they did deliver a baby

  • 7:20 a.m. Seven pounds. In Penn Station. Marie Boothe, in the subway station during rush hour, couldn’t wait any longer. “Forget the ambulance, forget everything else – I’m going to have the baby right here,” she recalled saying. So she started having it right there. Police officers on counter-terrorism duty were called in to help deliver Caesar Penn Boothe, whose name reflects the unusual circumstances of his birth. Aww, that’s the cutest thing we’ve ever heard related to the word terrorism! source

  • It’s one thing to clip out a celebrity’s photo from a magazine and ask your stylist to copy that cut. Who hasn’t done that? But to have a nose job, have collagen injections in your lips and start talking like Angelina – that’s over the top.
  • A friend of Angelina Jolie • who was quoted in the Chicago Sun-Times as saying that Jolie is “totally creeped out” by Suleman, who appears to have possibly gone to extreme lengths to copy Jolie’s look. Suleman also tried contacting Jolie, apparently. • source
