Culture: It’s official: We want to have the new Tron movie’s baby

  • It doesn’t matter that we’re a blog. Or that we’re mostly written from a male perspective. Or that we can’t reproduce even if we wanted to. Watch this trailer and tell us you don’t want to have a baby with “Tron Legacy.” And keep in mind that Daft Punk is doing the soundtrack. DAFT PUNK! There’s nothing that can go wrong with this movie.source

Culture: Hall and Oates – and Oates’ stache – are back, in cartoon form

  • Well, this is much better than it has any right to be. “J-Stache” is a cartoon featuring Hall and Oates, with Oates’ stache as one of the main characters. We heard about it when it was first being discussed, and held our breath hoping it would be great, and this video sure provides a lot of ammunition in its favor.source

Culture: Meet one of our favorite people ever, Hollywood Car Racer

  • Linder Lue Lawrence, a.k.a. Hollywood, is the queen of Norfolk, Virginia. She’s an icon of the city and the Ghent neighborhood. Despite living a life of hard knocks as a developmentally disabled adult, thanks to the Hope House Foundation, she has not only survived, she’s thrived. She regularly shows up on billboards, in newspapers, and other unexpected places. When we launched, we gave her a shout-out. Here’s another one. ‘Cause the world needs to know how awesome she is.source

Music: We don’t know what to make of this Discovery album. Do you?

  • The pedigree on this side project is pretty solid for indie circles – a guy from Vampire Weekend and a guy from Ra Ra Riot. But the beats on this bizarre attempt at R&B are so cheesy and over-the-top that we’re not sure whether to dance or laugh. What do you think of “LP”? Check it out above.source

Tech: Here’s that new under-the-radar Firefox 3.5 feature you heard about

  • Have a MacBook/MacBook Pro? Three words: Twist between tabs. If you’re like us, you have three bajillion tabs open at any time, and it’s hard to move between them. Fortunately, CrunchGear has shown us the light, and it’s light in the form of using the MacBook’s multi-touch twist function (which you should seriously try in Photoshop) to switch between tabs. It’s seriously a tiny little innovation which you didn’t know you needed until you used it. source
