Offbeat: A few Navy guys put their twist on “I’m On a Boat”

  • In a few comments, some are criticizing these Navy guys for actually daring to have a little fun when they’re stuck in the middle of the ocean working. We don’t see that problem at all. In fact, we hope that they’re doing this instead of working, because they look so hard in this video that you can’t imagine any pirates would dare come up to their boat. This cover looks like the kind of cover Bob Dylan would use for a Christmas album – traditional, with the air of a tongue implanted firmly in cheek. May we just say that we're actually excited about the prospect of "Christmas of the Heart" (which hits in October)? It has that appeal that the Scarlett Johansson album of Tom Waits covers did for us. source

  • They’re sure running with this joke. (Sorry.) As you might remember, a few months back, Stephen Colbert attempted to win a contest to get a part of the International Space Station named after him. He won, but NASA chose to name this treadmill after him instead. Which, is still incredibly awesome. Admit it.source
