  • If we can somehow turn an army of tablet-wielding rich people into tablet-wielding rich people who can also type at 50 words a minute on a touch screen, the world will have plenty of reason to be scared. We haven’t tried this app, but plan to. source

  • Dr. Jack Cassell • Discussing that health care bill which he doesn’t like. He was on the radio with Alan Colmes Friday when he admitted this. Colmes, who was trying to figure out exactly why the doctor disliked the plan so much, when it became clear that he didn’t understand what he was railing against. He later admitted that he wished the law was explained better, but not before putting a sign on his office telling people who support Obama to go away. source

Politics: The Washington Post wants to hide our mean comments

  • I like the approach because it doesn’t limit speech. Anonymous loudmouths can still shout. But ‘trusted commenters’ will be easier to hear.
  • Washington Post Ombudsman Andrew Alexander • Discussing the Post’s decision to switch to a tiered commenting system like Gawker. Why? Too many loudmouths who hate the liberal media and everything it represents. With the system, it adds a layer of trust that encourages more good comments by allowing users to promote those and leave the conspiracy theories behind. Seriously, though, they found that a lot of story sources were getting scared off because anonymous commenters were so mean. A new bride, for example, was told to get a life insurance policy for her husband because he was obese and would probably die soon. Yeah, the Post needs to fix that. source

Offbeat: We can rap movie titles just as effectively as this dude

  • 109 movie titles, five minutes. Despite that (and probably due to the fact that he fudged a couple of the fan-submitted movie titles, DeStorm’s rap is actually fairly coherent and pretty awesome. His beat sucks, but it doesn’t matter. Any dude who can fit that much into five minutes deserves a gold star and a cookie.
