U.S.: South Park terror threat guy on trial for (unrelated) terror charges

  • Remember this guy? He’s currently on trial for terror charges for attempting to go to Somalia to join the terror group Al-Shabaab. Zachary Adam Chesser, also known as Abu Talhah al Amrikee, has already hit radar screens this year after he made a veiled threat against the South Park guys for their infamous Mohammed episodes. Chesser, a Virginia resident, is being held without bond while a judge decides his fate. His trial continues today. source

Politics: Sarah Palin tweets something, and everyone stops everything

  • Peace-seeking Muslims, pls understand. Ground Zero mosque is UNNECESSARY provocation; it stabs hearts. Pls reject it in the interest of healing.
  • Sarah Palin • Tweeting a message about the whole to-do surrounding a proposed Islamic community center and mosque a couple blocks from Ground Zero. Then she tweeted again. “Peaceful New Yorkers, pls refute the Ground Zero mosque plan if you believe catastrophic pain caused @ Twin Towers site is too raw, too real,” she wrote. Now it’s a top item on Google News. Granted, it’s generated a huge controversy in New York City, but why wasn’t it really given national play until Palin said something? source

World: The wannabe Times Square bomber has his own Talibanesque video

  • The attack on the United States will be a revenge for all the mujahedeen and oppressed Muslims. Eight years have passed since the Afghanistan war and you shall see how the Muslim war has just begun and how Islam will spread across the world.
  • Attempted Times Square bomber Faisal Shahzad • Talking in a video shot prior to the attack, which partly aired on Al-Arabiya today. The video appears to be the handiwork of Umar Media, a part of the Pakistan Taliban, which probably explains a lot about the dude’s motives. source

U.S.: Faisal Shahzad’s guilty plea has a little extra for conspiracy kooks

  • It’s a war. I am part of the answer to the US terrorizing the Muslim nations and the Muslim people.
  • Wannabe Times Square bomber Faisal Shahzad • Using fighting words during his guilty plea, which he verified 100 times over. He said that if the U.S. didn’t leave Iraq and Afghanistan, “we will be attacking US.” So put that in your pipe and smoke it. The dude can’t even build a proper car bomb! (In other news, we’ve had an open-and-shut terror attempt in the time that the oil spill has been spewing.) source

World: Protip to Americans: Don’t take the War on Terror into your own hands

  • Pakistan just nailed a dude who was trying to do just that. The man, identified as Gary Brooks Faulkner, was carrying a sword, dagger, gun, night-vision goggles, a night-vision camera, and some sort of Christian literature (probably a Chick tract). Strangely enough, it’s only the first case of an American trying to catch the dude himself in an attempt to get a $25 million reward – well, actually, it’s the first case that we know about. source
