Islamic militants detonate truck bomb in Somali capitol

Be warned, the video shows some graphic images from the scene. The truck bomb attack killed at least 70 people, and injured dozens more, the most deadly terrorist attack in Somalia in five years. The militant Islamist group Al Shabaab has claimed responsibility, just two months after they retreated from the capitol of Mogadishu, pledging to wage guerilla war against the weak and tenuous interim government. Said a BBC journalist on-site: “…I genuinely feel, it is the worst incident I have seen here in Mogadishu.” source

before Aid groups couldn’t get food to starving people in al-Shabaab-controlled areas in Somalia. That’s because the U.S. has sanctions against the al-Qaeda affiliated group who is doing everything in their power to ensure aid doesn’t reach civilians — including diverting aid and killing aid workers.
now The U.S. now says it won’t prosecute aid groups whose aid falls into the wrong hands — which is a good thing. It’ll make it at least a little easier to get aid to people in Somalia, but it’ll still be dangerous. 14 World Food Programme workers have been killed in the region since 2008 alone. source

Remember this guy? He’s currently on trial for terror charges for attempting to go to Somalia to join the terror group Al-Shabaab. Zachary Adam Chesser, also known as Abu Talhah al Amrikee, has already hit radar screens this year after he made a veiled threat against the South Park guys for their infamous Mohammed episodes. Chesser, a Virginia resident, is being held without bond while a judge decides his fate. His trial continues today. source

BBC is owned by England and it spreads (a) colonial and Christian agenda in the Muslim world. BBC fights Islam … it is against the Islamic administration in Somalia.
A message from the al Shabaab militant group • Regarding their cutting off of BBC broadcasts in regions of Somalia controlled by the group. The broadcast service doesn’t have any studios in Somalia but broadcasts its main London feed to local FM stations in the war-torn nation. BBC’s Head of International Relations & Africa Region, Jerry Timmins, was upset about the actions. “We are disappointed in this interference with our broadcasts in Somalia as in the end,” he said, “it is the Somali people who are most affected.” source
