U.S.: Cop killer in Oakland didn’t want to go back to prison

  • He was preparing himself for the next shooting – that’s what went through my mind.
  • Igor Wolf • The man forced to drive Tim Kretschmer away from the school where he shot numerous students in Germany. Wolf said Kretschmer asked about going to another school. 15 people died in Kretschmer’s attack. Authorities are also looking into involuntary manslaughter charges against Kretschmer’s father. • source

U.S.: Alabama shooter left a note; he planned to go out in “grand style”

  • Why he did it Without specifying the specific details of the note, investigators said that Michael McLendon’s note explained a row with his family that left him harboring ill feelings. McLendon also disliked the way he was treated at work – he was given the nickname “Doughboy,” which he didn’t like. McLendon killed many members of his family and many co-workers during the shooting on Tuesday. source

U.S.: Pastor shot, killed during a service; nobody’s sure why.

  • It hit the very top of the Bible and exploded on top of the Bible and turned into what many thought was confetti. In fact, some thought it was some type of skit or some type of program at the time.
  • Illinois State Police Director Larry Trent • About the first shot fired at the Rev. Fred Winters. The second shot him him in the chest and he died. The incident, which also wounded others, has shaken the First Baptist Church in Maryville, Ill., but nobody’s sure what the connection between the pastor and shooter was – if there was any. • source

U.S.: Another disturbing tragedy on the Va. Tech campus

  • An unspeakable murder A Chinese graduate student was decapitated by a fellow classmate in a cafe on campus. Yesterday, 22-year-old female student Xin Yang was killed with a butcher knife by 25-year-old male student Haiyang Zhu. Yang had only recently started at the Blacksburg, Va. school a few weeks ago. Haiyang knew the student, but no motive has yet been determined for his actions. source

  • What happened? Around 11:55 a.m. yesterday, a gunman opened fire at a state trooper in the middle of a section of Interstate 90 in East Greenbush N.Y., just southeast of Albany. The shooting caused an evacuation of the highway, as well as panic, as drivers attempted to get away from the scene. source

But then I heard more shots and saw people ducking down in their cars, and I knew something was wrong.” source
