Politics: Visual Aid: Maybe Obama needs a mustache for respect

Barackfrobama1021
  • Would Obama get a little more respect if he had a mustache? A recent study showed that people with mustaches make more money than people without one. It may not be as stylish as what he’s used to, but it might help win him some respect from the Glenn Becks of the world. He’s going to make another push for peace in Israel soon, so it could come in handy. As long as he gets the right kind. Go with a handlebar, bro. (Art thanks to CORRESPONDENT)source

U.S.: Daily Poll: Toking on Obama’s lax medical marijuana policy

  • The Obama administration does not plan to go after medical marijuana users not breaking state laws. This is a big deal for a lot of reasons, not the least of which is that Tommy Chong could probably restart his mail-order bong business. It’s a big reversal from the Bush administration. But is it what the country needed? Vote above. source

U.S.: Shepard Fairey completely screws up his Obama copyright case

Shepard Faireys Obama “Hope” poster at the National Portrait gallery
  • You screwed up, Shep. What could have been an iconic bellwether in the debate between copyright and fair use just had a major wrench thrown in it. Fairey’s poster, which he originally said was based off a different photo than the one the Associated Press thought he used, was in fact based off the one the AP claimed. Rather than coming clean and admitting he was wrong, he deleted the evidence off his computer. He finally admitted he was wrong yesterday, and says he’ll continue to fight the case, but dude will have to get some new lawyers. When fighting a case like this, Shep, don’t screw it up – it makes everyone in your shoes look really bad.source

Politics: Glenn Beck: The White House has made the war about Fox News

  • It’s not often that we give Glenn Beck credit, mainly because he’s a raging loony who almost never deserves credit from us, but Beck hit this out of the park. The White House should not be screwing with Fox News. They’re small potatoes. Fox News realizes it. However, we draw the line at Beck saying that they’re openly at war with Fox News’ viewers and their politics. Take the high road, White House, and show the country you’re better than this.source

Politics: The “Goodists”: Obama’s Nobel Prize in line with past winners?

  • He is, so to speak, the son Alfred Nobel never had (minus the dynamite fortune), the best and most significant spokesman for everything the Peace Prize has stood for these 108 years.
  • Wall Street Journal columnist Bret Stephens • Describing why Barack Obama may, in fact, be worthy of the Nobel Peace Prize. Stephens notes that the award, minus a few oddball exceptions (Yasser Arafat) and obvious winners (Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King Jr.), has largely been given to “Goodists,” people who have made an effort to be seen as good and to see problems as solvable misunderstandings between well-intentioned people. An interesting perspective, for sure, written by someone who knows what he’s talking about. • source
