U.S.: See ya, Tommy Porteous: Senate impeaches federal judge

  • uncommon U.S. District Judge Thomas Porteous of Louisiana has been impeached and removed from his post for reasons of misconduct – the first federal judge impeachment since way back in 1989.
  • unfortunate Porteous, 64, has been suspended with pay for two years, but since he didn’t make it until age 65, he won’t be getting his federal pension. Bet that misconduct doesn’t seem so smart now, does it? source
