Politics: Sean Hannity’s cold on how hot our planet is this year

  • You can also look it up, this is one of the coldest years in history, this past year.
  • Sean Hannity • Completely getting his facts wrong on how warm it is this year. Media Matters (which is admittedly a liberal site, BTW) points out that Hannity has repeatedly said that this is one of the coldest years on record – facts not backed up at all by the NOAA, NASA and Britain’s Met Office. Data from all three says that it’s one of the warmest years on record. We wonder what crow tastes like. source

U.S.: D.C. socialites Tareq and Michaele Salahi step up their state dinner game

statedinner1125

  • These people are officially the greatest showboat reality-tv-whore badasses ever. Tareq and Michaele Salahi totally crashed the White House’s state dinner last night, and they did it in a blatant way, with Facebook photos, time with Rahm Emanuel (above) and no security clearance. Who knows how they got in; we wanna know what they’re gonna get out of it. source

U.S.: Some guy is stuck in Nutty Putty, which is less fun than it sounds

That’s because, despite the name, “Nutty Putty” is in fact a cave. In Utah. He’s stuck 150 feet below ground. Yikes. source

Politics: PETA’s latest ploy: An anti-factory-farming Thanksgiving ad

  • If PETA is trying to convince us that we shouldn’t eat turkeys, this video kinda sorta does it. But man, is it ever harsh. NBC said they’d be willing to air the ad in late-night time slots, but PETA wanted it to air during the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, where tons of families – clearly, the target audience – could see it. Not so much, guys. source

Tech: Magic Mouse praise: “It’s the first Apple mouse that doesn’t suck”

Despite the fairly high praise, Wired doesn’t claim it’s absolutely perfect, as they only gave it a 7 out of 10. Why? It doesn’t do Expose and Spaces. Lame. source

Culture: Adam Lambert’s mom “just went with the flow” at the AMAs

  • He always wanted to entertain, even just in our family, so he took it a few steps further. It’s my kid. He’s doing great. He is entertaining everyone, including me. You know, I was a little taken aback, but I just went with the flow, and it’s all good.
  • Leila Lambert • Describing her reaction to her son Adam’s now-infamous American Music Awards performance, which made more than a few people shudder. She says that her son “inspires” people, even in the wake of the controversy. We’re so inspired that Julius is already practicing to do his own version of the performance. source

Culture: Roman Polanski just allowed to Polanski himself bail

  • He’s waiting to bail himself out for now, based on appeals. Roman Polanski’s stay in jail may end once again, after a Swiss court said screw it and allowed him bail. Said bail won’t be cheap: It’s the equivalent of $4.5 million. But who knows? Maybe the infamous flight risk will consider that before he flies off again. source
