Tech: Up in smoke: Apple screws nicotine-addled consumers out of warranty

  • When I asked for an explanation, she said he’s a smoker and it’s contaminated with cigarette smoke which they consider a bio-hazard! I checked my Applecare warranty and it says nothing about not honoring warranties if the owner is a smoker.
  • Consumerist reader Ruth • Describing the nightmare situation she went through because her son’s iMac was in need of repair and he happened to be a smoker. Apple apparently claims that second-hand smoke is “biohazard.” We claim it’s #(&@(&!. Haven’t these guys ever heard of apple-flavored tobacco? source
