After the end of the most recent session (which was especially brutal), the South Carolina governor disappeared and didn’t tell anyone where he was going. According to his wife, he does this all the time, but people in the media noticed this time. source
Turns out he went to take a hike. Mark Sanford went to the Appalachian Mountains and went hiking alone. Interestingly, as the Christian Science Monitor reports, he went right around Naked Hiking Day. We’re not saying. We’re just saying. source
Usually, we wait a little while before posting our first video of the day. But this Taylor Swift-goes-hardcore bit from last night’s CMT Music Awards is too good to wait for. BTW, Swift killed at last night’s awards.source
No, your eyes aren’t deceiving you. You’re reading Stephen Colbert. And for that I apologize. The last thing I want is to contribute to the corrosive influence of the print media. I prefer to yell my opinions at you in person.
Stephen Colbert • In his letter from the editor, titled “Why I Took This Crummy Job.” Colbert guest-edited this week’s issue of the magazine – the first guest editor in the magazine’s history. He didn’t just sit around and take the credit. As he puts it, he “set the editorial agenda, assigned stories and yelled at Peter Parker to get me more photos of that web-slinging vigilante, Spider-Man.” We love this country. Thanks Stephen! • source
You have to dig deep in the source code of getyourbasketballon.com to find out who made this spot-on parody of “Archrivals”-era hoops (we’ll let you do that), but let’s just say Charlie Murphy hasn’t been this funny since his “Chapelle Show” days. Maybe longer.source
OMG are you guys seriously that stupid? Look, we get it. The Conan thing is freaking hilarious. We love it like a child of our own, in fact. (W’zup Jeff Greco?!) But we noticed something when looking on the Internet today: More than one big-media blog trying to set the record straight on what is seriously the most awesome coincidence ever. Syfy’s official blog, for example. Or more depressingly, The Live Feed, The Hollywood Reporter’s usually awesome TV blog. You guys need to take a step back from the mirror and realize it’s, on its face, hilarious. OK? Now read this story on how Nintendo digs it. source
The guy who put this together is a bloody genius and we want to have a couple dozen of his digital manbabies. LOL. Obviously a well-placed coincidence, but still amazing.source
While Charles often makes jokes about his producer during our telecasts, he used poor judgment on Saturday during our NBA coverage. His comment was inappropriate and TNT apologizes to our viewers. We have spoken with Charles privately about it and will not have any further comment.
