Politics: We could play this Stephen Colbert clip on repeat for days

  • It’s perhaps the best ten seconds in TV history. Stephen Colbert could seriously say this for weeks on end, and it would make us feel much happier about the fact that Sarah Palin exists. That, friends, is a great clip.

Music: See ya in a year, Lil Wayne! He’s heading to prison on gun charges

  • We’ll try to keep the music scene warm for you, man. Wayne, who’s going to plea guilty to gun charges today, will have to start his prison sentence immediately, as per the plea bargain he has. Due to his growing up in a rough neighborhood, he might have a better handle on jail than other celebrities of his stature, but definitely don’t expect him to be treated like a normal prisoner. U.S.: Jennifer Granholm calls Obama’s asian carp plan a load of crap

The problem stems from an Illinois canal where the carp are coming from. Granholm – and Michigan – want the canal blocked off from the Great Lakes. Illinois doesn’t. Obama’s from Illinois. You see where this is going. source

World: Ukraine’s election heads into dramarama with contested result

  • Yulia Tymoshenko lost, but she won’t concede. Despite wishes by the West that she concede (and their acceptance of Viktor Yanukovich’s victory), Tymoshenko, whose hair is made of stone, was quoted as saying she “will never recognize” Yanukovich’s victory, and her supporters will fight the result. Tymoshenko’s loss would be a huge blow to the Orange Revolution which took place after the 2004 election and got her into office. source
