Culture: South Park slams a nine-iron into the Tiger Woods story

  • Oh, South Park, we missed you so. Last night’s episode tackled everyone’s favorite punching bag, the Tiger Woods saga, with clever bits such as this one, where Cartman and Stan play a Tiger-themed fighting game. We want to buy this game. source

Offbeat: Chatroulette’s first star: Merton, the piano-improv supergenius

  • We went back and forth on posting this. Not because it’s not HILARIOUS, but because we were afraid we missed the viral boat on it already. Now, if we saw more guys with pianos and fewer guys with their hands on their (#&(@(&, Chatroulette would be a cool place. Please tell us this guy is actually Ben Folds pretending to be someone else.

Tech: The sagest words of advice you’ll ever read, fresh from Google

  • You can either be a #(&@ funnel or a #*#( umbrella.
  • Gmail product manager Todd Jackson • Describing his job using, uh, common terminology. Jackson, see, uses his job to essentially protect the engineers working on the ultra-popular e-mail program from loads of crap from both the public and the Google bureacuracy, so they can focus on their job of making Gmail better. We want to be a @(&# umbrella, too! It sounds like a lot of fun. source

Politics: Max Headroom: Jesse Ventura crazy conspiracy lightning round!

  • The former Minnesota governor is a 9/11 truther. Great. Jesse Ventura made the media rounds this week promoting a book where he analyzes pretty much every conspiracy ever, and calls it a lie. The book, “American Conspiracies: Lies, Lies, and More Dirty Lies that the Government Tells Us,” is bound to be a lightning rod (how ’bout that title?), but is it all just a crock of @(&!? Judge for yourself from these clips.

  • On “The View” On “The View,” it gets downright heated, especially when he discusses 9/11. We like how Whoopi looks like she just doesn’t want to be there at all. The JFK assassination conspiracies are also quite silly, too. Ventura looks crazy with that nest of gray hair.

  • on “The Today Show”Ventura notes that he didn’t give the book its name. “The title scared my wife,” he starts out. He suggests that the CIA is the key to the conspiracy. Ann Curry makes a major factual error in this clip, claiming that Sirhan Sirhan and James Earl Ray killed presidents.

  • On “Larry King Live” King spent a whole hour interviewing the former governor (worth watching in whole), but this clip on Afghanistan is choice, because he suggests George W. Bush and Dick Cheney essentially let Osama bin Laden get away in Afghanistan. Sigh. Whatta loon.

Culture: Play him off, next-generation Keyboard Cat! Play him off!

  • What’s great about Keyboard Cat is that the original video is 26 years old. But that means that Fatso, the original cat, is long dead (sadly). But Charlie Schmidt’s awesome goofy video is no longer just encased in amber for all eternity. The next generation of Keyboard Cat has been introduced. Meet Bento. (Hi Bento!) See him play the keys like a king. source

Politics: Sarah Palin will win in 2012 if this is her campaign poster

  • We can totally get behind this campaign poster to end all campaign posters, mainly because it’s hilarious. (Hat tip Andrew Sullivan)

Politics: Eric Massa says the greatest quote in the history of anything

  • I tickled him until he couldn’t breathe, and then four guys jumped on top of me. It was my 50th birthday. … You can take anything out of context.
  • Former N.Y. Rep. Eric Massa • Speaking on Glenn Beck’s Fox Ne … ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah … phew … ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah … oh my god he really said that… ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah … LOL. source

Politics: The Tea Party movement getting in the way of actual tea parties

  • When I look at search engine results for ‘Chicago tea,’ I find a whole bunch of Chicago tea party movement sites. There are a few tea places and then all this political stuff. It’s pretty annoying.
  • Chicago tea shop owner Tony Gebely • Regarding a huge marketing problem he has as a result of the Tea Party – what if people actually want tea instead of fiscally conservative politics? It’s really hard to find it on Google. Gebely’s problem isn’t anywhere near as bad as a guy who’s starting a business called “Memphis Tea Party” – pretty much every result that comes up is for the Memphis Tea Party, the organization. source
