We like their new advertising service, though. Technorati, a fairly well-known blog search engine that feels like it’s fighting a little bit of irrelevance thanks to Twitter and Facebook, is looking to have some blogs of its own. A number of people got invites from the service to become writers for the site, which is a little strange because of the fact that their main service facilitates traffic for other blogs. We’ll be keeping our eye out. source
Capitalism is an evil, and you cannot regulate evil. … You have to eliminate it and replace it with something that is good for all people and that something is democracy.
Michael Moore • In the ending monologue to his new movie, “Capitalism: A Love Story,” which is hitting the Venice film festival today. His reasoning? Capitalism – at least the form practiced on Wall Street – is damaging to our economy, and bankers and investors are gambling with our money. He has a point in the midst of the rhetoric, but considering that we have a president who regularly gets called a socialist, it’s probably going to be lost on the American public. • source
He’s not a kid anymore, and that goofy-awkward-cute-puppy-dog shtick is wearing off, say some hipster sources which we don’t associate ourselves with (because we completely disagree). The Borg won’t comment on the record, but they’ll definitely put some folks on the phone who will chortle on background and point out all the ‘problems’ with Snowy.
Fake Steve Jobs • On the possibility of an anti-Snow Leopard article in The New York Times, after David Pogue gushed about it, then admitted that he had a lot of problems with things breaking. According to Fake Steve, “the guys on the news side at the Times are ashamed of Pogue and embarrassed by him.” So are we, Fake Steve. So are we. • source
Not a good early-season injury to have. As first games go, it’s not nearly as devastating as Tom Brady completely obliterating his knee, but the Oklahoma Sooners definitely felt the loss of defending Heisman winner Sam Bradford. The quarterback suffered a acromioclavicular joint sprain in his throwing shoulder during yesterday’s game against BYU. And the No. 3 Sooners responded by blowing the game, 14-13. Yeah, they’re not going to be No. 3 next week. source
They closed the famous bridge this weekend to do repairs, but that stupid little crack in a bad spot might be enough to keep it closed beyond Tuesday.
