Sports, World: South Africa’s athletics chief feels heat for lying about Caster

  • Leonard Chuene’s in the doghouse, just like David Paterson. The country’s sports minister admitted yesterday that he knew that Caster Semenya had a gender test, but let her run anyway. He had previously denied this. Now people in the country are fuming. “Mr Chuene has not only lied to us as the ministry,” said Deputy Sports Minister Gert Oosthuizen, “but to the whole country, and this is not acceptable.” Man.
