Sports: Tom Brady’s surgeon thinks he’s an amazing in be … er, rehab

  • With regard to his recovery of strength, I’ve never seen anything quite like it. With an average person, it would have taken probably twice as long to get range of motion and strength back.
  • Dr. Neal ElAttrache • On his star surgery subject’s speedy recovery from a catastrophic knee injury last season. Brady, who previously led the New England Patriots to an undefeated regular (but not full) season, had his knee ganked in the first game of last season, and his backup, Matt Cassel, didn’t screw up too bad while papa bear was gone. • source

Sports: You’re good Matt Cassel, but you’re no Tom Brady. See ya!

  • The replacement QB got traded to Kansas City. Cassel, formerly of the New England Patriots, spent years waiting in the wings behind Tom Brady, and he finally had his chance to prove himself after Brady had a knee injury. And he did, leading the team to a solid season and getting 21 TDs in the process. But that solid season didn’t compare to Brady’s epic, near-undefeated 2007. So off to the Chiefs (with Mike Vrabel) he goes. source

Culture: The football superstar married the supermodel. Obviously.

  • Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen. Married. The couple exchanged vows last night in a “secret” ceremony at a Catholic church, which probably was a pain to get to because, seriously, how often do people get married on a random Thursday? Just sayin’. In case you forgot, Brady is the QB for the New England Patriots who was out this year due to injury, and Bundchen is the Brazillian model who’s currently wallpapering thousands of Windows desktops worldwide. source

Sports: How’s Tom Brady doing with that knee injury?

  • Anyone who’s come back from injuries that require surgery, it’s just a process. There’s some good days, some bad days, and you just got to keep plugging through them. That’s life.
  • Tom Brady • The New England Patriots’ star quarterback, on his recovery from season-ending knee surgery. The Patriots have missed him; after an undefeated 2007 regular season, they went 11-5 in 2008 but missed the playoffs. • source
