A conversation with his agent earlier today clearly communicated and confirmed to us that Jay no longer has any desire to play for the Denver Broncos.
Pat Bowlen • Broncos owner, on their franchise player, quarterback Jay Cutler, who they (especially coach Josh McDaniels) treated like crud, tried to untreat like crud and now will have to trade because he no longer wants to play for them. *forehead slap* Good job, guys. • source
From one big-box store to another. As you might remember, Circuit City collapsed pretty spectacularly earlier this year – perhaps the biggest non-financial entity to fall apart due to the credit crisis. But they did have their hands in the financial cookie jar a little bit with store credit cards. Rather than let the cards just die, Best Buy will accept them starting in May. Not good, not bad, just ambivalent. source
There’s one last thing I should mention I love about Great Britain and that is the Queen. I’m very much looking forward to meeting her.
President Barack Obama • Who’s currently on his first overseas trip to Europe, where he’s currently hobnobbing with the Brits. If you get a chance, dude, go hang with the common people. Do whatever the common people do. • source
The backstory In case you’ve forgotten, Stevens, the former Alaska senator, was convicted of corruption charges right around election day for apparently taking gifts from Veco, an oil services company. The case managed to do what years of questionable actions by Stevens couldn’t – get him booted out of office by voters after 40 years. source

Fumbling the case This morning, the Justice Department, citing gross prosecutor misconduct, will be looking to dismiss the conviction, effectively putting Sen. Stevens in the clear. The prosecutors apparently withheld significant evidence and mishandled witnesses. The case would likely not be pursued again, mainly because Stevens, 85, is really freaking old. source
“A conservative lesbian” offers a great example. Cynthia Yockey’s article, titled “Obama confesses to treason and resigns, co-conspirators are in custody, Hillary Clinton sworn in as president,” imagines Obama getting arrested for being everything that bat$&^# insane conservatives say he is. Ms. Yockey, April Fool’s Day jokes are supposed to be funny. Make something up about how they found cheese on the moon. Pull a prank on your boss. But don’t subject people to stuff like this. source
