Sports: Jay Cutler says the Broncos never actually reached him

  • A simple, terse, “no” text message says it all. Cutler, who wanted a trade, and is now getting one apparently, did not get contacted repeatedly like the Broncos made it seem earlier today. Cutler’s agent, Bus Cook, in fact noted that they had only tried to contact him (not Jay, who noted the lack of contact via text message) on Tuesday, and the trade news was a bit of a shock. “I heard from Jay when he called to tell me he just saw on TV he was being traded,” Cook said. “They can spin it the way they want to spin it.” Draaaaaaaaama. source

Sports: The Denver Broncos sure fumbled that Jay Cutler thing

  • A conversation with his agent earlier today clearly communicated and confirmed to us that Jay no longer has any desire to play for the Denver Broncos.
  • Pat Bowlen • Broncos owner, on their franchise player, quarterback Jay Cutler, who they (especially coach Josh McDaniels) treated like crud, tried to untreat like crud and now will have to trade because he no longer wants to play for them. *forehead slap* Good job, guys. • source

Sports: The Broncos messed with Jay Cutler too much. Now he wants out.

  • He asked for a trade. The Denver QB was upset by a number of things, including the way that the team took a good long look at current Chiefs QB Matt Cassel when he got traded from the Patriots, despite the fact that Cutler is arguably better. But the kicker was a meeting that went poorly with coach Josh McDaniels. “So, I get it, really, it’s a business,” Cutler said. “I’m disappointed beause I love being a Bronco but I think it’s run its course.” source
