Fortune Magazine recently named Steve Jobs the CEO of the Decade, an obvious choice. But what isn’t obvious are some of the cool photos in this gallery. (h/t TUAW)

Martin Gee, a talented illustrator friend of ours, loves his cat Citrus (shown eating and baring his teeth), and he takes the kind of cat photos that make us glad we’re not diabetic. We put up nearly all of the photos he gave us (which also include uber-poofy orange cat Riley and white/grey cat Zoe), because we couldn’t decide. source
The Associated Press (who we’re still boycotting and have been for over a month) recently distributed a photo of a soldier immediately after he was severely injured in combat. He later died due to his injuries. They published it against the family’s consent. Granted, the impact is significant, but is this a role the media should take? Let us know. Vote.source
With a fire this big and menacing looking, it’s a natural draw to good photography. Nature’s destruction kind of allows for it. Here’s a Flickr array of all the recent shots: Smoke, fire, scariness, beauty in destruction.source
THESE PHOTOS ARE AMAZING! There’s Obama’s plane! And the Statue of Liberty! And off-camera, thousands of pissed off New Yorkers scared out of their wits by a plane flying in the middle of the city! source
A great find from our friend Charles Apple (who wrote a great write-up on the site just as it was launching). This image was on the cover of Time, one of nation’s highest-circulation magazines, yet Robert Lam got paid just $30 for it. If a commissioned photographer took it, they would’ve gotten paid much more. It’s not the first time something like this has happened, but it’s becoming more prevalent due to the fact that some stock photo (and editorial content) sites tend to thin the value of content. Read the blog. It makes great points.source
A researcher found that beautiful women tended to have 16% more children than less attractive women, facilitating the birth of increasingly more attractive women. Creepiest part: Photos were used in research. source
Also according to the story, it doesn’t matter how attractive a man is – it doesn’t seem to have any sort of effect on how attractive their kids are. So ugly dudes, don’t give up hope: Your kid could still be the next Brad Pitt! source
