Cats!: Our final cat: Maine Coons grow up to be all huge and stuff

  • OK guys, here it is. Last one. We hope you enjoyed Catstravaganza – all two days of it. When we do this next, we’re not extending it to three. Just an FYI. Not to be jerks or anything, but we think there’s a good reason why the site’s balance leans heavily towards the Afghan War and inside politics over cats. But it’s good to take a break from that once a year, right? 🙂 Anyway, here’s our last one, from Emily Johnson, who has a cat that’s going to grow very big someday:

Cats!: Nearing the home stretch, complete with a fluffy cat!

  • We still have a couple more cat pics for you guys, and despite feeling a little like this as we head towards the kitty finish line, we’re not going to give up quite that easy. Because some cats (like Meghan McKinney’s cat photo, above) deserve it. In other news, which do you think is fluffier, the cat or the couch?

Offbeat: In Japan, cats attack giant bears and win. Awesome!

  • We know that we post a lot of cat videos, but most of them don’t offer the awesome sight of a bear getting shamed by a freaking cat. See that? That’s bear shame. In Japanese. With Japanese captions which we won’t bother translating.

Offbeat: Catstravaganza’s last, but not least: A cat sitting in the sink

  • We’ve seen so many cat photos today that our brain is about to explode with cuteness. But we had to do it. It was for the common good of society. This last photo comes from Nicole Bogdas. It’s of Dillinger, one of many gangster-themed cats she named in her e-mail. You’ve got all the makings of a crazy cat lady, Nicole!

Offbeat: So, @ohmgee gave us so many cat photos that we couldn’t decide

  • Martin Gee, a talented illustrator friend of ours, loves his cat Citrus (shown eating and baring his teeth), and he takes the kind of cat photos that make us glad we’re not diabetic. We put up nearly all of the photos he gave us (which also include uber-poofy orange cat Riley and white/grey cat Zoe), because we couldn’t decide.
