Culture: Dancing With the [CENSORED]: Nancy Grace has a moment

  • Nancy’s grace slipped tonight. Poor taste, sorry.  On tonight’s episode of “Dancing With the Stars,” Nancy Grace had a slight wardrobe malfunction. Faster than you can say “Casey Anthony trial,” producers had to cut to a “static shot of the audience” to prevent potential FCC freakouts. After the performance, Judge Bruno Tonioli quipped: “It was a bit top-heavy at times, my darling. And I got an eyeful! I couldn’t miss that. But it really is great to see you taking over the dance floor and performing.” Sleep tight, America! source

U.S.: Wanted in Peru: A former Natalee Holloway disappearance suspect

  • 2005 In Aruba, Natalee Holloway went missing and is presumed dead. Dutch student Joran van der Sloot is a suspect, but evidence against him is weak.
  • 2008 After the case dragged on and on (and on – thanks Nancy Grace), prosecutors try and fail to re-arrest van der Sloot after new evidence surfaces.
  • 2010 In Peru, van der Sloot is the main suspect in the murder of Stephany Flores Ramirez, and this time, there’s sufficient evidence. She was found in his hotel room. source

Culture: Nancy Grace writes a novel. Great. Shoot us now.

  • The plot – at least partly – mirrors her life. Nancy Grace apparently doesn’t have enough ways to sensationalize and annoy us, because now she has a work of fiction coming out. The book, “The Eleventh Victim,” focuses on District Attorney Hailey Dean, a woman whose fiance is murdered weeks before their wedding, convincing her to become a prosecutor. Just like Grace. Blah. The sad part is that this book is going to have an audience. source

Culture, Politics: CNN isn’t doing so hot in primetime right now; MSNBC is

  • +30% increase in MSNBC’s prime-time ratings helped largely by kingpin Keith Olbermann; they’re now in second place, ahead of CNN (Fox News is still way atop the heap) source
