Offbeat, World: Saudi dude makes boasts about sexual prowess, regrets it

  • In Saudi Arabia, pre-marital sex is a crime, guys. Mazen Abdul Jawad lives in a highly conservative country. He’s also an idiot. Jawad went on TV earlier this month and talked about his conquests with women. This being in a country where unmarried men and women aren’t even allowed to talk. Now, he’s being forced to apologize and charges could be filed against him. For his part, Jawad says that the producers of the TV show he was on trimmed down two hours of footage and focused on the most shocking parts of what he said. But still. source

Politics, U.S.: Ah Rush, saying such soothing words about Sonia Sotomayor

  • Do I want her to fail? Yeah. Do I want her to fail to get on the court? Yes. She’d be a disaster on the court. Do I still want to Obama to fail as president? Yeah. … He’s going to fail anyway, but the sooner the better here so that as little damage can be done to the country.
  • Conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh • Stuck between a rock and a hard place in criticism of Obama’s supreme court justice pick Sonia Sotomayor, who he called a “reverse racist.” The challenge that the GOP faces is that Hispanics make up a good portion of their base currently, and if they’re not careful, they could alienate them with their attacks. But Rush doesn’t care. Rush is Rush. • source

U.S.: How does Obama pick who gets tax cuts? Well, he leaves out the rich.

  • We start from the simple premise that we should reduce the tax burden on working people, while helping Americans go to college, own a home, raise a family, start a business and save for retirement.
  • President Barack Obama • Defending his tax strategy and promising more cuts by the end of the year. All those conservatives teabagging with Dick Armey? (Sorry, we couldn’t resist the potty joke.) Not on the list, apparently, which is why they’re ticked off. We blame the red coats. • source

Culture, Politics: Bill O’Reilly didn’t see “Milk” because of Sean Penn. His loss.

  • He’s a great actor, and if you hire him, you’ll get a good performance. I’m just not going to give a guy who gives aid and comfort to people like Ahmadinejad, Hugo Chavez and Saddam Hussein, when he was alive, my 10 bucks. That’s my right as an American.
  • Bill O’Reilly • Who’s “a big movie guy” but will not spend money to see Sean Penn in a movie. We hope he changes his mind, because we think an upcoming flick of his might be right up his alley. • source

Politics, U.S.: It’s been a while since Bobby Jindal’s come up. Here’s an update.

  • My answer to the question is very simple: ‘Do you want the president to fail?’ It depends on what he is trying to do.
  • Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal • Talking to members of his party last night about whether Rush Limbaugh’s stance on Barack Obama is worthy of criticism. Jindal, post-response, is still dipping his feet into the possibility of a presidential run. • source

Offbeat, Politics: Chuck Norris sounds like a nutjob with all this revolution talk

  • How much more will Americans take? When will enough be enough? And, when that time comes, will our leaders finally listen or will history need to record a second American Revolution?
  • Chuck Norris • In his latest conservative column for WorldNetDaily, titled “I May Run for President of Texas.” Yeah Chuck, you have fun with your revolution. • source
