U.S.: The CIA wants to hire more Arab Americans. Good luck, guys

  • People have been told, ‘Your name is Mohammed; your name is Ahmed; you must be a terrorist.’ How do you bring people into the government when they have been subjected to a great deal of discrimination?
  • Arab American News publisher Osama Siblani • Discussing the CIA’s plan to try to hire Arab-Americans in Dearborn, Mich. The Detroit suburb, currently the heart of the U.S.’ Middle Eastern community, is being targeted by the CIA to help boost its intelligence ranks and diversity. Many applaud the decision but question the trust Arabs can have with the organization, especially considering the way they’ve been treated by the government post-9/11. source

U.S.: We’re not thankful for the guy who died in Nutty Putty

  • Getting people to him is very difficult. It is a tightly confined space. When there is movement, it is literally millimeters at a time.
  • Sgt. Spencer Cannon • Just before John Edward Jones, who was stuck in the Nutty Putty cave in Utah, died. Jones was trapped in the cave for a whole day in an area 18 inches wide and 10 inches deep. Which sounds awful. source

U.S.: D.C. socialites Tareq and Michaele Salahi step up their state dinner game

statedinner1125

  • These people are officially the greatest showboat reality-tv-whore badasses ever. Tareq and Michaele Salahi totally crashed the White House’s state dinner last night, and they did it in a blatant way, with Facebook photos, time with Rahm Emanuel (above) and no security clearance. Who knows how they got in; we wanna know what they’re gonna get out of it. source
