  • How can you throw a governor, elected twice by the people, out of office when the rules don’t even require that you prove up elements of criminal allegations?

Blagojevich claims that he was unable to bring his own witnesses to the trial, which was why he initially boycotted the proceedings. His remarks today were lengthy and repeated many points in a last-ditch effort to save his political career. • source

The governor is facing an impeachment trial for allegedly making that seat pay-for-play. He chose to take his case to “Good Morning America” today, rather than testify at his own trial. • source

U.S.: Rod Impeachojevich, Illinois Governor

  • They’re looking into throwing the bum out Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich could get impeached based on a recommendation by a legislative committee. The committee cited gross misuse of power, specifically in regards to allegations he tried to make Obama’s former senate seat a pay-for-play endeavor. If the Illinois state legislature takes the recommendation, they’d try him in the state senate and possibly remove him. We never trusted guys named Blagojevich. source
