Politics: Gay marriage advocates, here’s a Christmas present from Joe Biden

  • I think the country’s evolving, and I think there’s an inevitability for a national consensus on gay marriage.
  • Vice President Joe Biden • Offering up the kind of phrase on “Good Morning America” this morning that will get gay marriage advocates cheering. They may even say that it’s a “big fucking deal” on a hot mic just as the president is gonna make an announcement. Now, if only he can get Obama on board for this … source

Politics: Rand Paul is the boot heel that keeps on kicking (oh boy)

  • What I don’t like from the president’s administration is this sort of, ‘I’ll put my boot heel on the throat of BP.’ I think that sounds really un-American in his criticism of business.
  • Rand Paul • Criticizing Obama for their handling of the BP oil spill, you know, one of the worst environmental disasters in the history of the country. Daring to pull out the regulatory dogs is un-American? This comes just days after the Civil Rights Act controversy, and as a result Paul is extending his stay in the Twitter trending topics. Protip: If you win a primary in May, stop talking until September. Will really help your standing. source

U.S.: Who’s the hero in the Joe Stack IRS attack? Depends on who you ask

  • His last actions, the suicide, the catastrophe that caused injuries and death, that was wrong. But if nobody comes out and speaks up on behalf of injustice, then nothing will ever be accomplished. But I do not agree with his last action with what he did. But I do agree about the government.
  • Joe Stack’s daughter Samantha Bell • Regarding her opinion on what her father did. Without condoning the action of crashing into an IRS building in Austin, Bell condoned the intent of the action, which was to bring attention to U.S. tax laws. Ken Hunter, whose father Vernon Hunter died in Stack’s plane crash attack, disagreed completely, as one might assume considering the fact that his dad died in the attack. “How can you call someone a hero who after he burns down his house, gets into his plane… and drive it into the building to kill people?,” he said. “My dad Vernon did two tours of duty in Vietnam. My dad’s a hero.” source

Tech: Chatroulette’s founder, 17, surprised that his site’s popular

  • I was not sure whether I should tell the world who I am mainly because of the fact that I am under age. Now I think that it would be better to reveal myself.
  • Andrey Ternovskiy • Describing the popularity of his insane webcam-plus-anonymity service, which has taken off in recent weeks, enough that it gets featured in New York Magazine, Good Morning America and The New York Times. We still think it’s a fad, but it’s pretty cool that the Russian student came up with it. Regarding the use that’s become most prevalent – perverts showing off their junk – he notes that while he’s very against it, other people are doing “really unbelievable things I could never think of.” (In a good way.) He has more features planned, which is probably a good thing to extend its pop-culture currency. source

Culture: Adam Lambert’s “Good Morning America” turned into an “Early Show”

The sting of the American Music Awards is just a little too much for ABC, but that isn’t deterring rival CBS from getting in on some simulated fellatio action. source

Culture: Legal analyst: Expect charges against Dr. Conrad Murray soon

  • I have no doubt he’s going to be indicted … Just the amount of work tells us that.
  • Defense attorney Roy Black • Analyzing the likelihood that Dr. Conrad Murray will be indicted in the Michael Jackson case. Investigators have spent months gathering evidence against him – search warrants, interviews, so on and so forth. And Fox News didn’t even have to announce this analysis, which aired on “Good Morning America,” a week early! • source

U.S.: Naming names: Oprah was considered for Obama’s old seat

  • She seemed to be someone who would help Barack Obama in a significant way become president. She was obviously someone with a much broader bully pulpit than other senators.
  • Rod Blagojevich • Illinois governor, on one appointment consideration he had for Barack Obama’s old senate seat, iconic daytime talk-show host Oprah Winfrey. The governor is facing an impeachment trial for allegedly making that seat pay-for-play. He chose to take his case to “Good Morning America” today, rather than testify at his own trial. • source
