World: Russia’s got deadly mine blasts of its own to deal with

U.S.: In Staten Island, a ferry crashed into the dock, injuring many

  • A 2003 ferry crash killed 11. The Staten Island Ferry crashed into the dock of the St. George’s terminal where it was coming into. “I felt this big boom, the whole building was trembling,” said Antonina Rose, who witnessed the crash from inside the terminal. Details are still coming in on this one. source

That gnarled mess that this firefighter is standing next to used to be a train. The deadly accident in the northern city of Castelbello also injured at least 20. source
