An American ship attacked The latest incident involved The Liberty Sun, a ship bringing humanitarian aid to Kenya. That ship was attacked with rocket-propelled grenades and automatic weapons, and suffered damage, but the crew managed to keep them off the ship. source
Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. is on the hot seat now. Federal investigators have taken a larger interest in Jackson, son of a more famous Jesse Jackson and a Democratic congressman from Illinois. The day before former governor Rod Blagojevich was arrested, Jackson went to Blago in an attempt to sell him on appointing him to the seat. Whether that was through “I’m the right guy” truisms or through pay-for-play mechanisms, that’s what investigators hope to find out. Why the hate? Because gay marriage is legal in Iowa. State Sen. Matt McCoy, a Democrat from Des Moines, recently took a death threat by phone, apparently because he’s openly gay. Homosexuality in Iowa is a touchy issue at the moment due to the fact that the State Supreme Court recently legalized gay marriage in the state.
