Tech: Microsoft’s Windows 7 Beta saga goes on

  • Want the beta? Now’s the time. Microsoft formally apologized for the delays in getting the software released to customers in a smooth fashion. They will let an unlimited number of people download the Vista-killer in the next couple of weeks. The MS Web site has been incredibly slow since the Beta’s launch and the company was initially afraid it couldn’t handle the load. source

That said, we apologize for the inconvenience that it caused some of you.” source

Biz, Tech: An ode to an absurdly ambitious idea: The Printed Blog.

  • It’ll be fun to see them try to pull this off. Someone needed to combine the philosophy of Digg with a print product, right? And these guys are all about it – it appears that they’re not newspaper people, even, but smart people with a good idea (and hopefully, money). One interesting thing to note is that they plan to ultra-localize the content they distribute, with the possibility of 100 print editions in Chicago alone (!). Watch out for this one. source

  • Lexus wants to make their cars talk Toyota, the corporation that owns the Lexus brand, plans to add a new feature called Lexus Insider, which will allow the auto manufacturer to talk to their drivers. Personally, we hope they tell the drivers how awesome they are because they own a Lexus. source
