The commercial notes that Tebow was nearly aborted for medical reasons (his mom, Pam, refused), and since he was born, ta-dah!, now he’s one of the biggest college football stars in history. The commercial, obviously expensive, has the potential of being seen by a huge audience. It’s already hugely controversial. source

  • “The Blind Side” star Sandra Bullock • Regarding her win at the Screen Actors’ Guild awards last night. Bullock, already a winner at the Golden Globes, has a real shot at an Oscar, but don’t tell her that, because she shushed a reporter who tried to do just that. Her career is scattered with romantic roles and “Speed” – not exactly the resume of a perennial awards contender. So this is pretty odd. source

Culture: “Jersey Shore” gets a Super Mario makeover, gets a lot better

  • As you might know, we have an instant affinity for all things Super Mario. And this is no exception, as Jersey Shore needed a little Mushroom Kingdom action going on – because they have so much in common, including the broad Italian stereotypes. We love the fact, in particular, that Donkey Kong and Bowser are hooking up. Amazing.

Culture: How other late-show hosts sent off Conan O’Brien last night


  • Kimmel: Clever splicing Jimmy Kimmel has really come into his own during the whole late night saga, and this clip is no exception. It splices Jay Leno’s 1989 movie “Collision Course” into a Conan revenge fantasy. Sweet!

  • Fallon: Boyz II Men Probably due to the fact that he’s kind of the new kid on the block, Jimmy Fallon has kept his head low during the whole late night debacle. As a result, this clip is sweet, but fairly safe.

  • Letterman: A sequel?!Letterman has perhaps had the most fun with the saga, but tonight he was a bit off with the approach, which parodied the infamous 1996 HBO movie “The Late Shift,” and imagined who would play Dave.
