  • Hamas not done yet A cease-fire may have been called on Israel’s end, but Hamas is standing strong. “A unilateral ceasefire does not mean ending the aggression and ending the siege,” said Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhoum. “These constitute acts of war and so this will not mean an end to resistance.” source

  • The end toll Israel begins their cease-fire at 2 a.m. Sunday, believing that they’ve removed Hamas’ ability to attack the southern part of Israel with rockets. (Their cause wasn’t helped when – lo and behold – Hamas launched a rocket attack on Saturday.) In the end, the assault on Gaza led to more than 1,200 Palestinian deaths. source

Offbeat: Obama speech generator: ‘hope’ is not just another word for ‘dog’

  • My fellow Americans, today is a heartfelt day. You have shown the world that ‘hope’ is not just another word for ‘dog,’ and that ‘change’ is not only something we can believe in again, but something we can actually give.

U.S.: Bush’s final approval rating: A record-setting low

  • 22%? That’s it? George W. Bush goes down as having the lowest final approval rating of any president in the last 70 years, when they first started polling. To put in perspective, Reagan and Clinton left with 68% approval ratings, Bush’s dad left with 54% and Harry S. Truman has the next-lowest with 32%. No love for George W. :( source
