Culture: We hope it’s a rumor: Robert Pattinson as Kurt Cobain?

  • David Fincher would direct, so at least that’s good. Take this with a grain of salt, but scummy British tabloid The Sun is reporting (and it’s being repeated elsewhere) that a new Nirvana movie is being made, starring “Twilight” star Robert Pattinson as the alternative rock icon, and Scarlett Johansson as Courtney Love. The Nirvana story is one we’d rather not see a studio screw up, so let’s hope The Sun lives up to its rep in this case. source

  • Dear blogosphere (you know who you are), are we really so gullible as to believe the Robert Pattinson “Sexiest Man Alive” cover? You barely have to know anything about Photoshop to notice that it’s an obvious fake. It doesn’t use the same fonts, and clearly you can tell they’re off! (On the other hand, nice job on the hair, anonymous faker – considering you knew this image had approximately an hour of currency on Twitter, you did a good job cutting it out.) Fortunately, it isn’t as fake as a magazine putting a 46-year-old man on their cover, claiming he’s the sexiest man alive, and trying to feign relevance. That, my friends, is fake. (Sorry, Johnny Depp. It’s not you. It’s People Magazine.) source

Culture: Paris Hilton is a bit behind the curve on her “Twilight” love

  • She digs Robert Pattinson. Hilton, who kind of has a history of getting what she wants, mentioned to reporters that she finally saw the bloodsucking hit “Twilight” – which has been out since November – a couple of nights ago, and took a liking to both the vampire tale and the male lead. Regarding Pattinson, she noted that “He’s fabulous!” Next, Hilton will do the Macarena for us. source
