But that said, it’s not even the worst issue our boy is facing — see, he recently got indicted on felony charges involving his reported usage of $900,000 to hide his pregnant mistress, Rielle Hunter, from sight.

Culture: Elizabeth Edwards somehow upbeat despite sobering prognosis

  • I have found that in the simple act of living with hope, and in the daily effort to have a positive impact in the world, the days I do have are made all the more meaningful and precious. And for that I am grateful.
  • Elizabeth Edwards • In a Facebook post where she talks about the spread of her cancer. She reportedly only has weeks to live. So, to remind you guys, this lady spent like a decade propping up John Edwards’ political career only to get dumped when she had cancer so the former vice presidential candidate to shack up with the mother of his out-of-wedlock baby? And now she’s going to die soon? How unkind is this world? The fact that she has a single positive bone left in her body, let alone the sincere heart shown here, is amazing. And John Edwards is a crappy human being who doesn’t deserve any of the success he’s had. (Sorry, we were angry. And now we’re very sad. We have a lot of respect for Elizabeth Edwards. You should too.) source

It’s the sound of immense regret crashing down on a woman who’s saying to herself, “I’ve made a huge mistake.” Rielle Hunter’s GQ interview and photo spread, which is nearly as skeezy as anything Eric Massa told Glenn Beck a week ago, was not supposed to be anything like that, she told Barbara Walters. Hunter also wasn’t wearing John Edwards’ shirt, but the photographer’s. She called the photographs “repulsive,” according to Walters, who regaled the tale on “The View.” She seemed comfortable during the shoot, though! source

Politics: Rielle Hunter to GQ: She calls him “Johnny.” Ulgh, yuck.

  • He… always said that he would support whatever decision I made. But I believe on some level he was hoping that I would get an abortion. Because he didn’t – he wasn’t happy about the timing. Which is understandable. He was married and running for president.

Hunter seems delusional – she talks about their relationship in terms that make it seem like he’s gonna be there forever. And the photos are cheesecake. Regarding her “Johnny” references, it turns out she’s right. “You know, when I first met him, the first week of our relationship,” she said, “I said to him, ‘For some reason I cannot call you John, it doesn’t come out. Could I call you Johnny?’ And he said, ‘That’s my name.’ And I didn’t know that, but that’s his actual birth name.” Shoot us now. source

  • Oprah • Speaking on her show yesterday. Her guest was Andrew Young (along with his wife Cheri), and they were talking about the ever-popular topic of Edwards’ affairs. Regarding what the purported sex tape shows, they revealed it shows Edwards “performing sex acts” while a woman who’s probably Rielle Hunter holds the camera. “Thank you for that information,” Oprah said. U.S.: Ex-John Edwards aide Andrew Young better give back that sex tape

  • Young was put in contempt of court today. Andrew Young, Edwards’ right-hand man in the midst of the politician’s sex scandal, has a sex tape that Reille Hunter, the other woman, wants. While Hunter had a temporary restraining order against Young, he wouldn’t give the tape back. Now he’s in contempt of court, but was not jailed, just reprimanded. If he gives the tape back by Wednesday, he’ll be golden. Will he? We’ll see. source

Young was on the losing side of most of the romantic facilitation, having to do pretty much everything possible to cover it up from Edwards’ wife Elizabeth, who was reading financial and phone records with a fine-toothed comb. It’s a nice guide about how not to get caught when having an affair. Final tip: Make sure you wear a condom. Edwards didn’t. source
