Sports: The NBA doesn’t want to be seen as the heavy on Twitter

  • David Stern sounds willing to find common ground. The NBA commissioner mentioned that the league was considering a Twitter policy akin to the NFL’s, but that it would be considerate of the players’ rights. The league has done a fairly good job of using the service so far, as they have over one million followers, and boast one of its most famous (and arguably best) users in Shaq. Don’t screw it up, guys. source

Tech: Like the new Safari? Well, you won’t like what it leaves behind.

  • A huge collection of crud gets dumped into an obscure folder. Look, we love the new Safari, Apple, but we’re never going to clear out pages and pages of information inside a folder called something like “/private/var/folders/et/etuAKaR1GTeV9DVeRGfst++++TI/-Caches-/com.apple.Safari/Webpage Previews/”. And you save screenshots of every web site we go to, in case they make our Top Sites in the future. So, Apple, you may want to fix that. Jerks. source

Offbeat: It was kind of a clever idea for a protest, but it weighed too much

  • 2.6 million pennies were to be placed on the steps of the Florida state capital as part of a protest
  • 15,000 pounds the sheer weight of the pennies, which caused the protest to be stopped. LOL. source
