Tech: Twitter finally has a plan to make money. Good for them!

  • Twitter will still be free for everybody and we’ll still tell them to go crazy with it. But we’ve identified a selection of things that businesses say are helping to make them more profit.
  • Twitter co-founder Biz Stone • Discussing how the company plans to actually make money with their overhyped, heavily-used service. The two ideas being presented: First, they plan to roll out premium accounts with analytics for corporate users. Secondly, they plan to create a commercial API for business-class interfaces. Culture: The Taco Bell Chihuahua dropped her final chalupa. :(

  • Gidget was her name, chalupas were her game. In one of the day’s saddest events, the dog that convinced us that Taco Bell wasn’t feeding us garbage died at the grand old age of fifteen. *sigh* We don’t know if we’re going to make it through the rest of the day. source

Culture: How do you teach kids about domestic violence? Create PSAs.

  • A few months ago, a survey came out saying Boston-area teens thought Rihanna was responsible for the Chris Brown domestic violence case. So, as part of a contest, they got high schoolers to make these PSAs to emphasize no, she didn’t do it. source
