  • What am I gonna tell the president? I’m gonna tell him his teleprompter is broken. What will he do then?

He plans to announce it at 10:15 a.m., according to MSNBC. We hope it lives up to the hype. MSNBC says it’ll likely be Sonia Sotomayor, making for the court’s first Hispanic justice. Politics, U.S.: Nevada’s governor still holding a grudge against Obama

  • He’s still ticked about this dramabomb. A couple of months ago, Obama criticized companies going to Las Vegas to throw lavish corporate gatherings despite the fact that they were getting bailout money. Clearly, he was criticizing the companies, not the city. But that’s not enough for Nevada Gov. Jim Gibbons, who declined a chance to meet the president based on something he said over three months ago. “I am not interested in a handshake and a hello from President Obama,” he said, “I am interested in an apology and plan to undo the damage the President did.” ME ANGRY! source

  • Where are we going to send them? That decision I would have made before I’d announced the closure.

Four months later, Barack Obama’s facing dissent on Guantanamo Bay from his own party.   • Ultimately, I think that GM is going to be a strong company and we are going to be pulling out as soon as the economy recovers and they’ve completed their restructuring.

Offbeat, U.S.: Obama can’t get Robert Gates’ name right, by the way

  • He introduced Gates as “William” during yesterday’s speech. Obama sees Robert Gates just about every day, but despite this, he still got the defense secretary’s name wrong during yesterday’s speech, which in our opinion is hilarious. It’s possible that he just had Will on his mind too much, seeing as that was his most-used word. Or he might’ve been talking about Bill Gates. Whatever. Just don’t do it again, dude. source
