U.S.: Did the FDA have advance notice of the peanut butter outbreak?

  • There was an early warning sign. Back in September, a shipment of peanuts from the same Georgia processing plant was returned to the U.S. from Canada after it was found to be contaminated with salmonella. The Food and Drug Administration logged this but never tested or followed up on it, according to the Associated Press. *forehead slap* source

  • How can you throw a governor, elected twice by the people, out of office when the rules don’t even require that you prove up elements of criminal allegations?
  • Rod Blagojevich • Illinois governor, in remarks at his impeachment trial today. Blagojevich claims that he was unable to bring his own witnesses to the trial, which was why he initially boycotted the proceedings.   • I saw an article today that indicated Wall Street bankers had given themselves $20 billion worth of bonuses. That is the height of irresponsibility. It is shameful.
