Canadian guy wins the lottery, collects his millions, gets thrown in jail

2009 Ontario, Canada resident Barry Shell won nearly $4.4 million in the lottery jackpot. Obviously, he went to collect his money as soon as he could. Some would say he was pretty lucky.
2003 Unfortunately, he failed to appear in court 6 years ago and had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The cops nabbed him right after he got his check and threw him in jail. *Not* so lucky. source

Alexander Rybak of Norway won it all – and then some – with this song called “Fairytale.” It’s good to know that there’s a violin-playing European equivalent to Ricky Martin. It helps us sleep better at night. source
