Culture: Arnold Schwarzenegger had two kids by two women in one week

  • 09/27/97 the birthdate of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s youngest son with wife Maria Shriver
  • 10/02/97 the birthdate of Arnold’s son with his former housemaid; her husband left her three weeks later source
  • » This makes things even more awkward: According to birth records released regarding Mildred Patricia Baena’s child with the former governor, he was born less than a week after Maria Shriver had a child of her own. The actor has supported the child since his birth. The superstar actor, who is taking this hard, “is doing everything he can to take full responsibility to take all of the spotlight off his children and wife,” according to a CNN source close to Schwarzenegger. Still though, it’s kinda tough to do so with this kind of scandal. This is pretty weird, right?

Culture: On Arnold Schwarzenegger’s mind-blowing out-of-wedlock bomb

  • So yeah, that was kind of an atomic bomb of a news story TMZ just dropped, eh? It says a lot that the revelation that Arnold Schwarzenegger had a child out of wedlock would be shocking if he was just a movie star. (Over a decade ago, but still.) Problem is, though, he’s a former California governor, and as a result, the standard is way higher. Plus, he was married to a Kennedy! Anyway, here’s the apology: “I understand and deserve the feelings of anger and disappointment among my friends and family,” he said. “There are no excuses and I take full responsibility for the hurt I have caused. I have apologized to Maria, my children and my family. I am truly sorry.” Considering he’s done with political life, will this hurt his career going forward? Or will his now-revived movie career survive the revelation? (photo via the Port of San Diego‘s Flickr page) source

Politics: Obama’s got a buddy on the right with massive muscles

  • When it comes to effort,
[Obama] should get a straight A. He’s out there with tremendous energy and he’s selling his ideas. And he has great enthusiasm there. He’s a great speaker, a great  communicator.
  • California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger • Stretching his big, muscular arm across party lines in giving Obama a pat on the back for his first year in office. Schwarzenegger says that Obama has to “be tough, just continue on, never give up, eventually he’s going to get all those things done.” You know, like the Terminator does when he’s trying to save Sarah Connor. source

U.S.: The only salvation Ah-nold will get is “Terminator: Salvation”

  • Don’t to come to us for extra help. That was the message. And you know something? I appreciate that when you hear that from the people. It gives us a chance to go and adjust, and say ‘OK, we went in the wrong direction.’
  • California governor Arnold Schwartzenegger • Who faces a really crappy lame duck session in office after the people voted against his referendum to help pay for the massive deficit the state is facing. Sucks to be him, big time. • source

Politics, U.S.: Arnold Schwarzenegger seems ready to fire up pot legalization

  • All those ideas of creating extra revenues, I’m always for an open debate on it. We ought to study very carefully what other countries are doing that have legalized marijuana. What effect did it have on those countries? Are they happy with the decision?
  • California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger • On the possibility of legalizing pot. He goes on to note that his native Austria did not have a good experience with legalization. By the way, most people think pot should be legal as a way to raise state revenue. • source

Culture: Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger may make a “Terminator” cameo yet

  • Despite lack of time, he’s willing “if they get the technology together.” The governator of California has a lot on his plate, such as a budget crisis, but he’s still willing to make time for a cameo in the movie that made him a big enough star to become governor of a state. Next month’s “Terminator: Salvation,” starring Christian Bale and already sporting killer trailers, may feature the original Terminator in a cameo role. We sure hope so, because that would rule. He agrees. “I think it’s cool to continue on with the franchise,” he said. source
