Republicans Senator: “We’ve got nobody to blame but ourselves”

Maybe the debt ceiling was the wrong place to pick a fight, as it related to trying to get our country’s house in order…maybe that was the wrong place to do it.
GOP Senator Bob Corker • In a shockingly frank admission that the Republicans overplayed their obstructionist hand. The phrase “pick a fight” implies antagonism for antagonism’s sake which, if one reflects on the Republican party’s behavior over the last three years, would seem an appropriate implication. Another Senate Republican, Lindsey Graham, had a similar confession: “Our problem is we made a big deal about this for three months…we’ve got nobody to blame but ourselves.” Yes, indeed. These confessions bode well for the prospects of a deal passing the Senate, but the House remains another question entirely. source

We know that the Republicans of this last Congress picked up the name ‘The Party of No.’ I think that Democrats have to work with Republicans, and Republicans have to work with Democrats. It’s not a one-sided deal.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid • Promising to offer more opportunities for collaboration with the more-evenly-divided Senate and Republican-leaning House. Reid continues: “We need to stop using words like ‘chastened’ and I think what we have to do is recognize that all of us, all of us who are going to be in Senate, have to work together. That’s the message from the American people.” There’s a difference between Harry saying it and it actually happening. Remember that, dudes. source

Mitch explains himselfSenate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell says it’s honorable to be the “Party of No” (and proudly so). He makes a lot of arguments here, but the most annoying one is the one about the FCC regulating the internet. How the hell did net neutrality turn into that description?
Alvin Greene stays steady The most awkward Senate candidate in the history of the world actually managed to hold it together for six solid minutes today during a speech to his local NAACP. Which is honestly better than we’d do. We’d turn into a puddle of sweat quicker than that.
Mark Williams is an idiotAnd yet, CNN continually brings him on their network. Roland S. Martin is having none of Williams’ incendiary remarks with their loopy logic and moronic conclusions. If this guy is one of the leaders of the movement, the movement needs a new leader or two.
